Brazil vs Paraguay Analysis
South American World Cup qualifying action on Tuesday as current front runners Brazil host 9th placed Paraguay in what should be a highly interesting game down in Mineirao this midweek.
Brazil currently sits atop of the group on 36 points with qualification already assured while Paraguay are on the outside looking in with just 13 points and 6 points away from a potential playoff spot with just three games remaining.

The Brazilians have averaged 2.5 goals per game at home this campaign and enter Tuesday’s match against Paraguay boasting an almost watertight backline, giving up just 1 goal at home over the entire competition so far.

While Brazil are deserved favorites here against Paraguay on Tuesday, it’s not without a hint of caution.
The Brazilians were fortunate to keep their current unbeaten streak alive on Thursday against Ecuador as they survived a late penalty appeal by Ecuador in that game and fortunately escaped with a draw.
With a host of attacking players out for this fixture also including Neymar, Richarlison and Firmino, it’s a brave person who’s willing to lay a full goal and a half here on Brazil, even against a side as lackluster as Paraguay have looked, as they enter Tuesday’s game not only with a depleted squad, but also questionable motivation for this game as well.
A better angle to look at in this one is on the total as Brazil have been excellent at the back over this WCQ run, averaging just 0.17 goals per game to opponents at home during this campaign, while Paraguay have also shown themselves tough to breakdown as well, securing goalless draws against both Colombia and Argentina over just their last six games.
