Celta Vigo vs Almeria Betting Analysis
Almeria travels to Celta Vigo on Sunday looking for a result that would finally lift them out of the relegation zone with only twelve games remaining on the season.
The Almeriensistas have won just one of their last seven games overall, losing five of those seven outright also, but did secure an incredible upset over league leaders Barcelona back in February for that one sole win.
Their opponents in this one Celta Vigo sit in relative mid-table safety, and even have a chance of European football for next season should they continue on their current trajectory, going unbeaten across their last five games in all.
Celta Vigo have won five of the last six meetings against Almeria in this venue, with Almeria’s sole victory in the Estadio de Balaidos coming all the way back in 2014.
Almeria’s Road Form Leaves A Lot To Be Desired
No team in LaLiga this season, not even bottom-of-the-table Elche, have a worse road record than Almeria do this year, with the Almeriensistas ranking as the only team in the league currently on zero road wins and a mammoth 27 goals allowed on the season also.
What also hasn’t helped that fact is that Almeria don’t appear to be improving much either, getting outscored by a 10-3 margin across their three most recent road defeats.
Race For Top-Scorer On At Celta Vigo
Celta Vigo’s 35-year-old Spanish forward Iago Aspas has been on fire this season, tied for third in the LaLiga goal charts overall with 12 goals scored and ranking third in total team contribution rate also at 38%.
Hot on his heels however to break that seven-season long streak as Celta Vigo’s top scorer is young 20-year-old Gabri Veiga, who sits just three goals behind Aspas in the goal charts this season.
His performances have already raised interest from clubs such as Manchester City this year as the young midfielder is rumored to be in high demand among Europe’s elite.

Celta Vigo’s defense has improved remarkably over recent games, shutting out every opponent across their last three wins at home.
Celta Vigo also rank top five in the league across 2023 in overall defensive scoring as well, and an even better top three at home, with only the two heavyweights of Barcelona and Real Madrid allowing fewer goals at home over this calendar year than Celta Vigo have.
Similarly, Almeria have also improved defensively on the road across 2023, albeit marginally, ranking 14th overall on-road defensive xGA since January 1st.
