Crystal Palace vs Wolves Betting Analysis
Manager-less Wolves managed to halt its slide down the EPL table on Saturday with a much-needed three points against equally-struggling Nottingham Forest at the Molineux.
In a game where not much separated the two teams over 90 minutes, Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves was able to convert his spot kick while Forest’s Brennan Johnson missed his at the other end just 23 minutes later to give Wolves a crucial 1-0 win and all three points in that game.
Crystal Palace, meanwhile, is coming off a 0-0 scoreless draw over the weekend against Leicester City. Leicester had the better going of it overall in that one, but the Eagles did what they have managed to do so often this season and that’s grind out a result. Patrick Viera’s team has lost just one of its last five matches, but still sits in 13th-place in the EPL table.
Crystal Palace has owned recent head-to-head meetings with Wolves, winning all three and not allowing a single goal in any of them.
Ongoing Saga in Wolverhampton
Wolves top managerial target, former Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui, turned down the offer for a chance to manage Wolves in the EPL after former head coach Bruno Lage was sacked at the start of the month.
With Lopetegui not keen on a move to England, at least currently citing his father’s ill health, Wolves are now looking at more off-field names like current QPR boss Michael Beale and former man-in-charge Nuno Espirito Santo also.
Regardless of who gets the final nod in terms of taking charge of this team, Wolves will go into this game under caretaker management once more, and with just one goal from open play scored over their last five EPL matches in all, Jeff Shi and the rest of this Wolves board will hope their manager situation is resolved sooner rather than later.
Crystal Palace Relying On Some Good Fortune
Despite the impressive job manager Patrick Viera has done with Crystal Palace since taking charge last year, the Eagles have been getting somewhat fortunate with results this season.
According to expected points data, Crystal Palace should be firmly in the relegation zone at this point of the season, only marginally above both Bournemouth and Fulham. The Eagles have won just one of their last six xG battles overall, despite amassing six points over that run.
At some point those numbers will start to regress for this team and results will go against them. Brentford owned a 2.14 – 0.72 xG advantage over Crystal Palace despite it finishing 1-1, so the London side needs to find some form quick before their schedule ramps up with West Ham and others on the docket over the next few weeks.

We can’t envision many goals being scored in this one on Tuesday between Wolves and Palace. Both teams have struggled in front of net this season, especially Wolves, who have failed to score in four-straight away games heading into Tuesday’s clash.
The under is set at a criminally low straight 2 for this game (+120), but it’s for good reason as under 2.5 goals has cashed in all of the previous nine meetings between the two sides.
