Finland vs Romania Betting Analysis
Two of the bottom sides in UEFA Nations League B Group 3 face off on Friday as Romania travels over to Helsinki to take on Finland with both teams looking to put some points together in order to move up the table.
Romania’s sole win of the campaign so far came in the reverse fixture between these two sides back in June, with the Romanians running out close 1-0 winners in Bucharest through a first-half Nicusor Bancu goal after they missed a penalty previously.
Finland’s only win of the campaign so far came against Montenegro back in Match Day 2 after they secured a draw against table-toppers Bosnia in the previous game. Finland welcomes Romania on Friday holding a one-point advantage over them in the table.
Romania has an incredibly strong head-to-head record against Finland, having never lost to them in any international game, going W9, D3, L0 against them since 1970.
Offensive Concerns For Romania
Despite securing a slim 1-0 win in their previous meeting back in June, that win represented not only Romania’s only points of the campaign so far, but also their only goal as well.
The Romanians have been shut out in every other game so far over this group and own the group’s lowest goals per game average, along with the lowest shots generated away from home with an average of 9.5 shots per road match.
Fortress Helsinki Needed For Home Side
Finland enters Friday’s Match Day 5 game against Romania garnering just two wins since the start of 2021, with six losses and four draws over that same timeframe.
Manager Markku Kanerva’s side will therefore relish a return home in this one as they’ve been quite resilient in the Finnish capital previously, losing just one Nations League home game since its inception and keeping six clean sheets along the way as well.
