Fiorentina vs Juventus Analysis
Serie A’s joint top scorer this season, Dusan Vlahovic, returns to his former club Fiorentina on Saturday with Juventus looking to improve on their fairly mediocre 50-percent win rate this year with a victory in this one, and pushing themselves firmly into a top-four place in the process.
Juventus enjoyed a somewhat comfortable victory over Spezia in midweek with Vlahovic grabbing both goals in that game, but face a tricky trip to Paris on Tuesday to take on PSG over in the Champions League.
Fiorentina meanwhile lost their first game of the season on Wednesday with a 1-0 loss away to Udinese. A lackluster game overall, Fiorentina were poor in front of goal putting up just two shots on target over the entire 90 minutes along with a paltry 0.44 xG shot creation as well.
Fiorentina has only lost one of their last four meetings against Juventus in the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Juventus Continuing To Grind Out Results
It’s always been a particular facet of Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri’s game that he prefers substance over style, and that’s certainly been the case for his Juventus side to start this season.
Three clean sheets from the opening four games for the Turin giants hasn’t exactly provided the wow factor for many observers, but they’re nevertheless continuing to find ways to grind out results in otherwise competitive games.
Offensive Woes Continue For La Viola
It’s now been over 400 minutes of competitive action since Fiorentina last found the back of the net in a game, and the lack of a true central forward presence for ‘La Viola’, as in last January’s departure of former star Dusan Vlahovic, is becoming ever more noticeable at the club.
Despite this, Fiorentina’s defense is getting it done at the other end, especially at home, where they’ve kept eight clean sheets from twelve games over 2022 so far.
Fiorentina vs Juventus Prediction
We’re taking Juventus in this one in the draw-no-bet market on the road against Fiorentina on Saturday.
While the looming game against PSG on Tuesday may have Allegri’s attention a little divided here, Fiorentina is also in action this week over in Europe, facing RFS in the Europa Conference League.
Juventus has the roster to go deep in this one if needs be and with Fiorentina struggling so thoroughly in front of goal right now also, we expect Juventus to find a way to grind out another result on the road here on Saturday over in Florence.
Take Juventus PK on Saturday against Fiorentina over in Italian Serie A.
