Montpellier vs Nice | November 10 | 3:00pm ET

Montpellier +145 | Nice +115 | Draw +240

After vastly underperforming on their metrics last season, ranking as the 3rd best team in Ligue 1 based on defensive xGA, yet finishing down in mid-table in the league, the return to regression has been kind to OGC Nice this season, currently sitting top of the table overall after four straight league victories across their last four games.

They face a Montpellier team in this one who have pretty much stayed the course since last season, sitting on exactly the same points after 10 games that they were on last year.

However, manager Michel Der Zakarian will no doubt be disappointed by La Paillade’s home form this year which has seen them pick up just five points from a possible 12 inside the Stade de la Mosson this season.

Nice have won all of the last three meetings between these two teams, including a 6-1 demolition back in January, and given their current form, it’s very difficult to see anything other than another Nice victory in this one, cementing their place at the top of the French Ligue 1 standings as a result.

Take Nice to win outright on Friday on the road against Montpellier.

French Ligue 1 Prediction: Nice Moneyline (+115)

Le Havre vs Monaco | November 11 | 3:00pm ET

Le Havre +350 | Monaco -135 | Draw +295

After a red-hot start to the season which saw AS Monaco sit top of the league until just over two weeks ago, two defeats in their last six league games has taken the sheen off Les Monegasques across recent weeks, and they’ll no doubt look to get back on track this weekend against newly promoted Le Havre.

Le Havre for their part have been a highly impressive outfit under coach Luka Elsner since he took charge last year, not only in finishing top of the table and gaining promotion from Ligue 2, but also in being extremely competitive in the French top tier this season as well.

Les Ciel et Marine currently sit 7th in the league this year, grinding out results in eight of their eleven games so far this season, and could well pose problems for Monaco ahead of this game as well.

In Nabil Alioui, Le Havre have a potent young forward who has bagged four goals already this season, and who sits with the league’s third-best contribution rate behind only Akor Adams and Kylian Mbappe as well.

However, prior to their game against Toulouse last weekend, Le Havre had hit a protracted dry spell in front of nets, failing to score a single goal in any of their previous four matchups and owning the league’s 5th lowest offensive xG tally as well.

While Le Havre have shown themselves to be a tough out for teams this season, they have enjoyed a reasonably easy schedule to start the year, and against those upper echelon teams that they’ve faced, most notably Marseille and Lille, they did come up short by fairly convincing margins, losing by a combined 5-0 across those two matchups.

Monaco should have too much for Le Havre on Saturday, and we’re backing the league’s highest road goalscorers to get the job done in Stade Ocenae this weekend.

French Ligue 1 Prediction: Monaco Moneyline (-135)

Rennes vs Lyon | November 12 | 11:05am ET

Rennes -145 | Lyon +360 | Draw +315

In what’s been a spectacularly negative season for one of France’s most illustrious teams in Lyon this year, Les Gones currently sit as the only team in the entire league still yet to register a single win on the season so far.

It hasn’t been one particular factor that Lyon can point to either as the sole cause of their problems, with the team sitting with the 2nd fewest goals scored in terms of offense this season, as well as allowing the 3rd most goals and having the league’s 2nd worst defensive xGA in terms of defense also.

That poor start to the season, and Lyon’s less than impressive showing last year also, saw Laurent Blanc get his marching orders midway through September, with former Frosinone manager Fabio Grosso coming in to replace him.

However, the cloud has failed to lift at the club, with fans, especially the Ultra’s, letting their anger boil over in recent weeks, smashing the team bus during a game against Marseille just over a week ago which had to be subsequently called off due to Grosso suffering facial injuries in that attack.

That’s not the type of atmosphere that breeds much confidence in terms of backing this team from a financial perspective this weekend, and with Rennes’ only loss at home this season coming against champions PSG, as well as Rennes’ owning the league’s #1 rated offensive xG numbers at home this season also, this might be another bridge too far for Lyon this weekend.

We’re backing the home team to take all three points at Roazhon Park on Sunday.

French Ligue 1 Prediction: Rennes Moneyline (-145)
