Strasbourg vs Lens | September 29 | 7:30am ET

Strasbourg +225 | Lens +125 | Draw +240

Last season’s runners-up Lens finally managed to cobble together a win last week against Toulouse via a late Morgan Guilavogui goal which thankfully proved enough for them to snatch all three points in that game.

That’s hopefully the kickstart ‘Les Sang et Or’ need after an absolutely brutal start to the season which saw them lose four of their opening five games, and remain rooted to the bottom of the table as a result.

The problems are likely far from fixed at Lens however, with 27 shots on goal being recorded against Toulouse, and yet they still struggled to score in that game, with the loss of Lois Openda to RB Leipzig in the summer becoming an ever more apparent void to fill after he netted 21 times for them in the league last season.

Strasbourg meanwhile have started the season in some fine form, sitting 6th in the league overall, which includes an unbeaten start to their campaign at home also.

Strasbourg have lost just twice this season, both to top four sides in the league in Nice and Monaco respectively, and have enjoyed a solid head-to-head record against Lens inside the Stade de la Meinau as well, losing just one of their previous eight meetings here.

Take Strasbourg to avoid defeat at home once again as they welcome in a struggling Lens side on Friday night.

Prediction: Strasbourg +0.25 (-110)

Monaco vs Marseille | September 30 | 3:00pm ET

Monaco +120 | Marseille +200 | Draw +280

Monaco finally saw their undefeated start to the season shattered last Friday night as they suffered a somewhat surprising 1-0 loss at home against Nice, who subsequently leapfrogged them in the table.

Folarin Balogun was public enemy #1 after that game for the home side as the United States striker missed not one, but two penalties during a game I’m sure he’d rather forget.

Marseille meanwhile came off a loss themselves last week, and while it wasn’t entirely unexpected, losing as they did against PSG in the Parc des Princes, the manner in which it came probably was, as the Olympians were absolutely drilled via a 4-0 rout in the French capital by the champions.

Marseille have gone winless on the road this season in Ligue 1, and face a Monaco team in this one who, while they did lose to Nice last week at home, were arguably unfortunate to, and won both of their other two matchups inside the Stade Louis II this season by comprehensive 3-0 scorelines.

Marseille does own a solid record in this venue however, losing outright in just two of their last six visits to the eastern principality, so another close encounter is expected in this one also.

Take the outright draw on Saturday between two solid teams in Marseille and Monaco down on the French Riviera.

Prediction: Draw (+280)

Nice vs Brest | October 1 | 9:00am ET

Nice -130 | Brest +380 | Draw +290

In a table not many would have envisioned after six games, Brest and Nice sit atop the French Ligue table respectively, with a total of just one loss combined across their opening 12 games of the season so far.

That’s a far cry from last season where both teams struggled to get things going, and Nice’s recent resume especially looks incredibly good, with outright wins against Strasbourg, PSG, and Monaco, all top six teams in the league, coming in just their last three starts.

A lot of that success for Nice has come off the back of a defense that has allowed just four goals all season and boasts the best defensive xGA out of any team in French Ligue 1 this year.

Brest meanwhile has been almost equally as impressive, sitting top of the French Ligue 1 table on 13 points and averaging the joint-highest shots on target per game this year alongside Rennes in what’s shaped up to be a formidable attack this year.

However, while Brest has looked extremely potent going forward this year, sitting 3rd in offensive xG as they do behind only PSG and Monaco, that might well run aground this week against a defense in Nice that has looked almost impenetrable to start the season.

Besides that, Nice also has a tremendous recent head-to-head record against Brest at the Allianz Riviera, notching three straight victories against them in this venue going back to 2021.

Take Nice to continue their undefeated start to the campaign with an outright home win against Brest on Sunday.

Prediction: Nice ML (-130)
