Leicester City vs Tottenham Betting Analysis

Expect to see goals in this EPL clash on Saturday as this series has produced plenty of them over the years.

In the last 12 matches dating back to 2017, ten of them have finished Over the current total including seven reaching at least four goals scored. Five of six meetings at Leciester during that run saw at least three goals scored as well.

Then we can look at the numbers for both teams this season and see similar trends from both as Leicester have a 13-8 O-U record while Spurs are 12-10 to the Over. The story for both teams is their defense, or rather, lack thereof.

Defensive Letdown for Leicester City and Tottenham

Leicester has allowed the 3rd most goals in the EPL this season, 37 through 21 matches as only the two lowest teams in the table, Bournemouth and Southampton have allowed more.

In just their last six matches, they have conceded in each match and allowed at least two goals in five of them.

As you would expect, they reside in the bottom half of the table with such a poor defense, but don’t be fooled, it’s not because of an inept offense. Their 32 represents the most goals scored of any team in the bottom half of the table.

If you could have an exact opposite of Leicester, Tottenham would be it this season. Spurs have scored the 3rd most goals in the league (opposite of Leicester allowing the 3rd most), 41 through 22 matches trailing only the top two teams in the league, Arsenal and City.

Yet Spurs sit 5th in the table because of a defense that has clearly struggled compared to the other top teams.

Tottenham, have allowed 31 goals this season which is the most of any team in the top half of the table (once again, opposite of Leicester scoring more goals than any team in the bottom half), although they are coming off back to back clean sheets.

However, those two clean sheets snapped a run that saw Spurs concede at least two goals in nine of their previous ten matches, which is remarkably bad.

Leicester City vs Tottenham Expert Prediction

In the reverse fixture this season, Tottenham won 6-2 as both teams combined for a whopping 18 shots on target.

The league average is one goal scored for every 3.2 shots on target so if we even get just half of that this time around, we still have a good chance at cashing this Over.

Prediction: Over 2.75 Goals Scored -110 (split line of 2.5, 3.0)

(An alternative is to take Over 2.5 Goals at -140 which will give you a full winner if the match finishes with three goals, instead of a half-win by taking 2.75)
