Monaco vs PSG Betting Analysis
Top four clash over in French Ligue 1 this weekend as league leaders PSG travel down to the south coast to take on 4th placed Monaco in the Stade Louis II on Saturday.
PSG owns a huge lead at the top of Ligue 1, but a mix of some patchy form and a tough schedule has seen the price on them for this game cut in from the opening number.
Monaco for their part have been excellent at home over recent games, winning three straight and blowing out AC Ajaccio last month 7-1 in this venue as well.
Monaco have won both of their recent league meetings against PSG at home and will no doubt be looking to make it win #3 here on Saturday as well.
Tough Schedule Could Take Its Toll On PSG
After getting dumped out of the Coupe de France in midweek against Marseille, PSG now find themselves in the thick of a really tough schedule over the next two weeks.
They face Monaco, Bayern Munich, Lille, and then Bayern Munich again all in quick succession, creating a harsh environment for Christophe Galtier’s men.
With no Kylian Mbappe ahead of this game either, PSG have it all to do here ahead of Tuesday’s crunch Champions League leg 1 against German heavyweights Bayern Munich.
Monaco Sticking With Settled Squad
Wissam Ben Yedder and Breel Embolo have bagged 12 goals apiece for Monaco this season, the joint 4th highest mark in the league overall, as Monaco settle into a rhythm that’s seen them lose just one of their last eight league home games overall.
That’s led manager Philippe Clement to put faith in his squad and bring in no changes over the January transfer window as a result.
Monaco vs PSG Expert Prediction
The scheduling situation definitely could be better for PSG ahead of this one, especially with Bayern Munich coming to town, but all the data suggests the Parisians are still the value side in this one.
PSG have been one of those rare teams that have been better on the road this season than they have been at home (-0.53 xGD in Parc des Princes this season), while Monaco are also in that bracket, albeit to a lesser scale (-0.06 xGD per game at home versus road form).
Even with Bayern on deck as well, PSG will know that a loss here combined with a Marseille or Lens victory in the other fixtures this weekend, will shorten their lead to just five points at the top of the table.
Take PSG to win outright on the road on Saturday against Monaco over in French Ligue 1.
