1. Manchester City

L/5 Form – Tied 1st [3.00 PPG], L/5 xPTS – [11.85 xPTS], L/5 Strength of Schedule – Avg. Opponent Position [12.6]

No surprise to see the league favorites slot into our top spot this week as they’ve been in some incredible form across the last few months, generating more total points than Arsenal since January 1st despite playing a game fewer, and outscoring opponents by 18-4 over thier last six league starts as well.

2. Arsenal

L/5 Form – 4th [2.20 PPG], L/5 xPTS – [9.26 xPTS], L/5 Strength of Schedule – Avg. Opponent Position [12.2]

League leaders Arsenal have been struggling across recent games, dropping back-to-back 2-0 leads in matches against Liverpool and West Ham respectively and need a huge resurgence against bottom of the table Southampton on Friday in order to stay top of the table.

3. Aston Villa

L/5 Form – Tied 1st [3.00 PPG], L/5 xPTS – [9.88 xPTS], L/5 Strength of Schedule – Avg. Opponent Position [13.2]

Villa’s five-game winning run has them currently in a surprising European spot after blasting out Newcastle 3-0 on the weekend.

Unai Emery’s turnaround has been simply staggering considering they were fighting relegation after Steven Gerrard’s departure earlier in the season.

4. Newcastle

L/5 Form – 3rd [2.40 PPG], L/5 xPTS – [9.14 xPTS], L/5 Strength of Schedule – Avg. Opponent Position [10.2]

A slightly tougher schedule than most across the last few weeks facing a rampant Aston Villa side and 3rd placed Manchester United also, Newcastle United nevertheless remain one of the strongest sides in the league, owning the EPL’s best defensive record this season.

5. Brighton

L/5 Form – Tied 5th [2.00 PPG], L/5 xPTS – [10.67 xPTS], L/5 Strength of Schedule – Avg. Opponent Position [10.2]

Brighton just edge out Manchester United on this week’s power rankings for us due to far better xG numbers and a tougher strength of schedule also as Roberto De Zerbi continues to work his magic with the Seagulls this season.

16. Leeds

L/5 Form – Tied 11th [1.40 PPG], L/5 xPTS – [4.21 xPTS], L/5 Strength of Schedule – Avg. Opponent Position [10.2]

Despite three really positive results across recent games, drawing against Brighton and securing wins against Wolves and Nottingham Forest respectively, Leeds aren’t out of the woods yet and their data remains poor despite those results.

17. Everton

L/5 Form – Tied 13th [1.00 PPG], L/5 xPTS [4.89 xPTS], L/5 Strength of Schedule – Avg. Opponent Position [7.6]

Saturday’s loss to Fulham has really put Everton in a really tough spot moving forward as they face difficult games against Crystal Palace and Newcastle coming up, two games they desperately need points in.

18. Leicester City

L/5 Form – Tied 18th [0.20 PPG], L/5 xPTS – [5.60 xPTS], L/5 Strength of Schedule – Avg. Opponent Position [8.6]

Leicester data numbers have actually been really decent across recent games, generating more total xG than Manchester City on Saturday, yet failing to capitalize. That inability to convert chances continues to be costly for Leicester this season.

19. Nottingham Forest

L/5 Form – Tied 18th [0.20 PPG], L/5 xPTS – [3.01 xPTS], L/5 Strength of Schedule – Avg. Opponent Position [8.4]

With the league’s worst road form this season, the Tricky Trees were forced to grind out results at the City Ground, but even that ability has deserted them of late, currently on a five game winless run at home.

20. Southampton

L/5 Form – Tied 18th [0.20 PPG], L/5 xPTS – [3.69 xPTS], L/5 Strength of Schedule -Avg. Opponent Position [8.6]
