Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Premier League Prediction

Tottenham continued their dominant start to the season on Monday night with a comfortable 2-0 win over fellow London rivals Fulham in North London.

Son Hueng-Min gave the home side the lead midway through the first half in that game before James Maddison’s shot into the right corner early in the second half effectively put the game to bed for Tottenham as they extended their lead at the top of the table to two points.

However, Spurs won’t have the luxury of a full week to prepare for this one as they face yet another London rival on Friday in Crystal Palace, a team they’ve tended to struggle against in the past, winning just one of their last five visits here.

Crystal Palace meanwhile got absolutely run over last weekend by a rampant Newcastle side, giving up three goals to the Magpies inside just the opening 45 minutes in what was a rare blowout loss for the Eagles.

Whether they can regroup in time for a big home matchup against Tottenham on Friday night remains an open question, but Palace should nevertheless be much tighter on defense this time around due to that blowout loss they experienced against Newcastle last weekend.

Ange Postecoglou meanwhile seems to have found his preferred partnership at center-back for Tottenham, with Mickey van de Ven and Cristian Romero partnering well in defense so far this season, especially coming off back-to-back clean sheets in recent games.

That focus on defense will be key here on Friday also as Tottenham’s recent watertight defensive displays at the back should be able to marshall a Crystal Palace offense that is averaging the third-worst offensive xG rating in the league at home this season.

Conversely, Roy Hodgson will also know the only chance his side has of getting a result in this game will be to keep it tight and not get opened up as they simply don’t have the firepower to compete with Tottenham in an open game.

Take the Under 2.75 goals on Friday on a line at least a quarter goal high in our mind from where it should be.

Premier League Prediction: Under 2.75 (-105)

Bournemouth vs Burnley | October 28 | 10:00am ET

Bournemouth +115 | Burnley +230 | Draw +260

Bournemouth vs Burnley Premier League Prediction

Another week, another defeat for both Burnley and Bournemouth in the league, and the heat is really starting to ratchet up on both managers ahead of this weekend, but none more so than Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola who is now the bookies’ clear favorite to go next, with prices as short as -250 being currently lined for his exit at some books.

Iraola promised ‘organized chaos’ when he arrived at the Vitality Stadium in the summer, but all Bournemouth fans have experienced so far is rampant chaos, with the Cherries still winless on the season to date and currently mired in a four-game losing streak also.

Things haven’t been much better for Burnley either of late, as they slipped to a disappointing 3-0 loss away to Brentford last week.

Hopes were high that the Clarets could get a result in that game as Brentford were on a six-game winless run heading in, but Burnley were unable to capitalize on that poor run of form for Brentford, accumulating a measly 0.17 xG in a match they were vastly outplayed in.

With both teams currently stuck in the relegation zone, and both owning two of the worst opponent goals-allowed records this season as well, this is a game neither side can afford to lose on Saturday, with both managers likely seeing a draw as a positive result here given both teams respective struggles of late.

For Vincent Kompany, a draw away to Bournemouth would be a much-needed building block before hosting an out-of-form Crystal Palace side next week at home, while for Bournemouth, a result of any kind for Iraola would be a welcome sight given the trapdoor is about to be sprung on his managerial career down on the English south coast

The outright draw looks like a big, big price in this one considering both teams’ inability to win games this season, and we like the value on offer for a potential stalemate to play out in this one.

Premier League Prediction: Draw (+260)

Manchester United vs Manchester City | October 29 | 11:30am ET

Manchester United +380 | Manchester City -145 | Draw +300

Manchester United vs Manchester City Premier League Prediction

The biggest game of the weekend over in England on Sunday, the Manchester Derby, sees two teams in some fairly uninspiring form this season clash at Old Trafford this weekend.

Manchester United have massively struggled so far this season, with manager Erik ten Hag being ranked as one of the favorites to go next in the sack race after United’s 3-2 loss at home to Galatasaray three weeks ago.

Since then however, the Red Devils have slowly started to turn things around, putting together three consecutive wins on the bounce, but a criticism could definitely be labeled at the strength of the opposition in those games, a criticism they’ll be free of this weekend should they get the victory against last seasons champions.

While not quite as bad of a start as what Manchester United had to endure, Manchester City’s 2023/24 campaign definitely hasn’t lived up to expectations this season, with three defeats from four games prior to last weekend’s matchup against Brighton leading some to suspect that Pep Guardiola has lost some of his magic at the club after their impressive treble winning season last year.

Despite those recent losses, Manchester City got back to winning ways against Brighton last week, and still look like one of the strongest teams in Europe on their day.

Compare that with Manchester United who despite their recent mini-winning streak, just haven’t impressed in terms of the eye test this season, needing late winners to see off both Brentford and Sheffield United in recent games, and having 30% fewer dangerous attacks than FC Copenhagen in midweek as well.

City are the far stronger team in this one and given their need for points in order to catch Tottenham at the top of the table, we’re expecting a best effort from the Cityzens on Sunday in what should be a straight-forward win for the visitors.

Prediction: Manchester City Moneyline (-145)
