Brentford vs Southampton | August 31 | 10:00AM ET

Brentford -135 | Southampton +350 | Draw +300

Interesting game on Saturday down at the Community Stadium as Brentford hosts Southampton in a pretty meaningful game for both teams this weekend with just one win between them across a combined four games played so far.

That one win came for Brentford back in Matchday 1 as the Bees edged out Crystal Palace 2-1 in a tightly contested game, yet failed to follow this up by suffering a routine loss against Liverpool last week.

Southampton meanwhile are 0-from-2 in their Premier League starts this season, and they’ll be bitterly disappointed by failing to get anything from either of those two games, being vastly superior to Newcastle for large parts of their game back in Matchday 1, and then looking extremely subdued at home against Nottingham Forest last week also.

Southampton managed to put five goals past Cardiff City in midweek over in the EFL Cup, but have yet to crack the back of the net in the Premier League so far.

Brentford meanwhile allowed an own goal against Crystal Palace back in Matchday 1, and were able to stifle Liverpool for large parts of their game last week also.

With Brentford winning all of the last three head-to-heads between the two sides, all to nil, we believe that continues here once again as Southampton likely fail to find the back of the net in this one.

Premier League Prediction: Brentford to Win to Nil (+235)

Nottingham Forest vs Wolves | August 31 | 10:00AM ET

Nottingham Forest +105 | Wolves +250 | Draw +260

Former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo will welcome in his old charges to the City Ground on Saturday as he looks to guide his current crop of players to the same lofty heights of his old team when he took Wolves all the way into Europe just a few seasons ago.

While those ambitions still appear a long way off for this current Nottingham Forest team, the Tricky Trees will still nonetheless be extremely pleased with the start they’ve made in the Premier League this season, banking an impressive four points across their opening two games.

For Wolves, it’s been a much different story however, dropping both of their opening two games of the season, one of which saw them on the end of a 6-2 hammering by Chelsea in front of their home fans last week.

That could well have the Wolverhampton faithful geared up for a biteback in this one, and Wolves do have a great record in this fixture down at the City Ground, not having lost here in well over a decade (W4, D4, L0).

That said, however, Wolves have tended to be sloppy early on games recently, giving up two goals across their last two contests inside just the opening 25 minutes, along with giving up at least one goal in the first 45 minutes in each of their last eight away games.

With the Tricky Trees grabbing an early goal in their last home contest against Bournemouth, look for them to continue that trend here and bag a first-half goal against Wolves on Saturday.

Premier League Prediction: 1H Nottingham Forest Over 0.5 (-112)

Newcastle vs Tottenham | August 25 | 9:00AM ET

Newcastle +150 | Tottenham +150 | Draw +300

Despite being strongly favored as one of the pre-season favorites to challenge for a Champions League spot once again this year, Newcastle will be far from impressed with their start to their Premier League campaign in 2024/25.

The Magpies were extremely fortunate in Matchday 1 against Southampton, losing defender Fabian Schar early on in that game, yet managing to grab the win regardless, that coming despite a 19-3 goal attempts advantage for Southampton.

Newcastle didn’t fare much better against Bournemouth in their subsequent game either, with the Cherries almost coming out on top in that one after a late header by Dango Ouattara was denied via a controversial VAR decision.

Whether the Magpies can finally kick their season into gear ahead of this game remains an open question, but they’ll likely need to if they’re going to contain a team in Tottenham that put four goals past Everton last week, and who really should have been free and clear against Leicester back in Matchday 1 also.

This fixture has seen a ton of goals across recent seasons, with the last three Premier League meetings between the two teams witnessing a colossal average of 5.3 goals per game.

That could be a scenario that plays out here on Sunday also with Newcastle finally kicking their season into gear while being matched offensively by a rampant Tottenham team in this one.

Premier League Prediction: Over 3.5 (-102)
