Chelsea vs Brighton | September 28 | 10:00AM ET
Chelsea -140 | Brighton +335 | Draw +320
Two teams in some buoyant form meet this weekend down at Stamford Bridge as the still undefeated Seagulls take on a Chelsea side that looks revitalized in the English capital under new boss Enzo Maresca.
The Blues have won three of their last four games in the Premier League, scoring 10 goals across those three wins as well, and finally look to be back in a positive place after a couple of seasons in the wilderness after their Champions League triumph back in 2021.
However, that run of good form for Chelsea will no doubt be tested on Saturday as undefeated Brighton enter Stamford Bridge with a formidable recent track record here, taking points off Chelsea in three of their last four visits to the capital.
That’s been an issue for Chelsea overall as well, with the Blues generating just one of their ten points at home this season, and away teams scoring in all of Chelsea’s last eight fixtures in west London also.
That could well be on the cards once again in this one as Brighton have scored an average of 2.0 GPG away from home this season, as well as scoring in four of their last five visits to Stamford Bridge also.
Take the combination prop bet of Both Teams to Score combined with Over 2.5 goals on Saturday in a game that likely sees plenty of action down in London this weekend.
Premier League Prediction: Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 (-120)
Manchester United vs Tottenham | September 29 | 11:30AM ET
Manchester United +130 | Tottenham +180 | Draw +290
Two teams that have struggled out of the gate so far this season meet up on Sunday with both teams locked in mid-table currently on seven points apiece respectively.
Things didn’t get any better for Manchester United in their European campaign recently either, notching a disappointing 1-1 draw at home against Twente on Wednesday evening with a poor defensive error from United giving the Dutch side a share of the spoils in a game Manchester United largely controlled.
That’s meant United has won just two of their last six games overall with some books now pushing manager Erik ten Hag in at odds of +600 to be the next manager to go, the third favorite in the market.
Following very closely on that manager hot seat is Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou who had lost two straight games in the Premier League prior to last weekend’s badly needed victory against Brentford.
Tottenham looked in superb attacking form throughout in that game, something they’ll hope carries on in Thursday’s clash against Qarabag, but defensively there continue to be major issues, with Spurs keeping just one clean sheet across their last ten games overall.
Given that defensive liability for Tottenham, coupled with the fact that Manchester United has scored in every single home game going back to May (unless the opposition is named Liverpool), as well as in five straight meetings against Tottenham at Old Trafford also, we’re going back to the well in this one and taking the combination prop bet of Both Teams to Score combined with Over 2.5 goals on Sunday.
Premier League Prediction: Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 (-155)
Bournemouth vs Southampton | September 30 | 3:00PM ET
Bournemouth -160 | Southampton +400 | Draw +330
Southampton finally registered a point on the board this season as they came out with a scrappy 1-1 draw against fellow promotion stablemates Ipswich down at St. Mary’s last weekend.
However, it could, and probably should, have been so much more for the Saints who after taking the early lead in that game looked to be on the ascendancy, crashing the ball off the left post early in the first half as well.
That said, given Southampton’s rotten luck this season, it could have been so much worse also as five minutes deep into injury time, not only did Ipswich grab the late equalizer off a rebound, but they also could have had a penalty just minutes later which really would have drained whatever was left of Southampton’s waning enthusiasm for this season had it of been awarded.
Bournemouth meanwhile, after opening the season well, have now notched three defeats from their last four games overall, and were arguably very fortunate to register even that lone win against Everton a couple of weeks ago, needing three late goals to come from behind in what was an all-time epic collapse from the Toffees.
In terms of recent Premier League meetings between these two, not much has tended to separate either team, with both winning exactly 1-0 across their last two encounters during the 2022/23 season, both of which came as away wins also.
Southampton look as if they can’t nail a win for love nor money this season, while Bournemouth, despite their tough schedule, have nevertheless trended downward of late, so this could be a tougher-than-expected assignment for them on Monday.
As a result, a stalemate could well be on the cards over at the Vitality on Monday.
Premier League Prediction: Draw (+330)
