Sheffield United at Luton | February 10 | 10:00am ET
Sheffield United +360 | Luton -135 | Draw +285
Big relegation match at the foot of the table on Saturday as the Blades look to rebound off a lopsided 5-0 loss against Aston Villa last weekend with a much better performance on the road against struggling Luton Town.
That strong defense which manifested itself for the Blades under returning boss Chris Wilder, looks now to have all but evaporated as Villa easily put four goals past them inside the opening 30 minutes last week to run out comfortable winners in the Steel City.
Defense has also been a major concern for this Luton side of late as well, as they gave up four goals against Newcastle last Saturday, as well as ranking last in the league in defensive xGA this season.
However, at home in Kenilworth Road, Luton have been much sharper, securing three clean sheets across their last four home games, and losing just once in their last nine games overall as well.
In terms of form, no team is worse off than Sheffield United right now who have averaged just 0.50 PPG across their last ten league starts. That dips even further to just 0.20 PPG across their last five starts, and that’s a far cry from Luton’s respectable 1.50 PPG secured at home this season.
Overall, while this could turn out to be another tight relegation clash this weekend, with all of the last four meetings between these two sides at this ground going under the total, it’s difficult to see anything other than a Luton Town win here given the way both teams are playing right now.
Premier League Prediction: Luton & Under 3.5 (+141)
Manchester United at Aston Villa | February 11 | 11:30am ET
Manchester United +230 | Aston Villa +110 | Draw +280
It’s been back-to-back wins now for Manchester United in the league and another win on Sunday would go a long way to closing that gap on Aston Villa and Tottenham immediately above them for those coveted European spots.
Aston Villa however will have other ideas here as they come off a blistering 5-0 rout of bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United last weekend as they came out swinging in that game, putting four goals past the Blades inside just the first half-hour of action.
Whether that will be the case once again here on Sunday is unlikely however as Manchester United actually owns the 2nd best half-time record away from home this season, as well as by far the best clean sheet percentage also hitting a massive 82% overall.
Aston Villa won the last meeting between these two sides at this ground 3-1 back in November of 2022, but prior to that clash hadn’t beaten United in the league going all the way back to 1995, so the Red Devils certainly have a rich history of form in taking points away from the Villains in Birmingham.
Overall, given Aston Villa has seen just 9% of their home games this season witness both teams to score in the first half, and United owning by far the lowest 1H goals record at just 0.73 on average, putting the 1H Both Teams to Score – No into a 2-Team Parlay definitely wouldn’t be the worst bet to make this weekend.
Premier League Prediction: 1H Both Teams to Score – No (-350) [Parlay]
Chelsea at Crystal Palace | February 5 | 3:00pm ET
Chelsea -110 | Crystal Palace +290 | Draw +270
Chelsea’s struggles continued on Sunday as they suffered a 4-2 loss against Wolves, their second loss in as many weeks, and something that is vastly concerning to a team that has spent a mammoth $1.15 billion over just their last three transfer windows.
To invest that sort of capital and yet to sit closer to a relegation spot than a European spot will no doubt lead to some serious questions being asked over the summer, but for now, Chelsea badly needs to stem the tide with a result on the road on Monday night against Crystal Palace.
Thankfully for the Blues, they have a tremendous recent head-to-head record at Selhurst Park, winning all of their five previous visits here, including eight of the last nine also.
That’s definitely not the sort of recent series record you want to have either when you’ve given up at least four goals in two of your last three starts in the Premier League, as the Eagles have been absolutely woeful at the back of late, especially at home, where they rank as one of only four teams in the league yet to keep a single clean sheet across any of their last six home matches.
Chelsea have the most booking points in the league this season, and saw three yellow cards dished out in the second half alone in their most recent meeting against Crystal Palace back in December, so the cards market may be worth a look on Monday.
That said though, if you’re simply looking for a side to back on Monday, Chelsea in bounceback mode against an opponent they have a solid recent history against looks like the value play in this one.
Premier League Prediction: Chelsea Moneyline (-110)
