Atalanta vs AC Milan | Saturday December 9 | 12:00pm ET
Atalanta +145 | Draw +220 | AC Milan +185
Asian Handicap: Juventus -0.5 | Total: 2.5
Love, love, love this spot for Atalanta who is coming off a rough 0-3 loss at Torino and have now fallen outside of the Top-6 in the table.
Meanwhile AC Milan beat Frosinone 3-1 over the weekend to stay 3rd in the table. So how does that setup in favor of Atalanta?
It’s all about European competitions midweek after this match. AC Milan has to throw all of their eggs in the Champions League basket as they battle Newcastle to try and sneak into the Top-2 to qualify for the knockout rounds.
They need help too by the way of Dortmund beating PSG, which is certainly not out of the question. With a five-point gap on 4th place in the Serie A table, they can afford a loss here and I do believe we will see a rotated starting XI ahead of this match.
On the flip side, Atalanta has locked up the #1 spot in their Europa League group so they can put their full focus on Milan.
Aside from the scenario, Milan has struggled as of late defensively allowing 14 goals over their last nine matches.
It has been a tough schedule with both Serie A and Champions League duties facing the likes of Juventus, Napoli, Dortmund and PSG twice, and Atalanta is a team that can score as they have only been blanked twice this season compared to Milan who has been held scoreless five times.
Milan has won four of the last five with one draw, so history is not on our side here, but I can’t stress enough on how good this spot is for Atalanta.

Inter vs Udinese | Saturday December 9 | 2:45pm ET
Inter -400 | Draw +475 | Udinese +800
Asian Handicap: Inter -1.5 | Total: 2.25
I will stick with talking about the Champions League situation first as Inter have an upcoming match against Real Sociedad. The good news for Inter, they have locked up qualification for the knockout rounds, so that match is not a must-win scenario.
However, they are tied with Sociedad and only a win will see them advance as the #1 seed. While not crucial, that does put them into Pot 1 in which they will then draw a team from Pot 2 for the round of 16, essentially, an easier opponent, though it doesn’t always work out that way.
So, while I do think they will try to win that match, this is not a scenario to rest ahead of it as beating Udinese is important as well.
Inter sit two points atop the table over Juventus and with Juve facing Napoli, anything other than a Juve win will see Inter increase their lead atop the table, assuming they beat Udinese of course.
I made a case to back Udinese last week, which looked good until stoppage time (the theme of our losses last week), but conceding three goals to Verona, the most inept team in Serie A, is not a good omen now when traveling to the most prolific scoring team in the league.
Inter has scored 33 goals in 14 matches, six more than they next highest team while conceding only seven, which also leads the league. They rank as the best offensive and defensive side according to xG as well.
Udinese are a solid team, I don’t want to compare them to a Verona or Salernitana, but scoring three goals against Verona last week was only the 2nd time this season in which they have scored more than one.
They also struggle against the big boys in the league with multi-goal losses to Juventus, Napoli, Roma and even Fiorentina. Their lone win did manage to come against AC Milan, however.
Inter has won five straight over Udinese, four of those by at least two goals, I like that to happen again this weekend.
Serie A Prediction: Inter -1.5

Frosinone vs Torino | Sunday December 10 | 6:30am ET
Frosinone +215 | Draw +215 | Torino +120
Asian Handicap: Torino -0.25 | Total: 2.25
Torino is not a team to bet on away from home as they have just two wins in seven matches and often have trouble finding the net. One of their wins was 3-0 at Salernitana, but in the other six matches combined they have scored just three more goals.
Even including that Salernitana match, they average just 0.80 xG per match away from home. Meanwhile, Frosinone has been fantastic at home this season with just one loss coming in their opener against Napoli.
Since then, they have gone unbeaten in six straight matches with five wins and a draw. Granted, the competition hasn’t been elite, especially the last three with wins over Genoa, Empoli and Verona, but their run does include a win over Atalanta and a draw vs Fiorentina.
In 14 matches overall, Frosinone has lost to Napoli, Roma, Inter and Milan, which are all to be expected. But in their other ten matches, they have just two losses which both came on the road.
Admittedly, Frosinone has overperformed in their home matches, scoring 14 goals on only 9.3 xG, but their defensive numbers have been respectable, allowing an average of 1.48 xGA per match.
With Torino’s inability to create many quality chances, especially on the road, Frosinone is more than capable of grabbing at least a draw vs Torino.
Serie A Prediction: Frosinone +0.25 -115 DraftKings
