Chelsea’s bright start to the season continues in the early kick-off game on Saturday as the Blues travel to the East Midlands to take on a Leicester team that needs results.

Chelsea did hit somewhat of a stumbling block in the league prior to the international break however after their brisk opening to the season, winning just one of their last five games overall. However, with three of those five games consisting of Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United, it was always going to be a difficult task for Chelsea to secure maximum points across that run.

On the other side, Leicester have lost just one of their last three games at home, but that defeat did come heavily for them via a lopsided 3-1 loss against Nottingham Forest at the King Power, something which became even worse for them in their most recent 3-0 loss against Manchester United.

Those recent big defeats for Leicester won’t have been helped by the news that defender Ricardo Periera will be sidelined for up to four months, and with the Foxes scoring just one goal at home all season, their offense can’t exactly be relied upon to bail them out either.

With Chelsea owning the 4th best goals-allowed record in the league this season, along with the best outright goals allowed from open play also, all the value lies with Chelsea being able to shut out the Foxes in this one.

Southampton vs Liverpool | November 24 | 9:00AM ET

Top faces bottom on Sunday as high-flying Liverpool will look to increase their lead at the top of the table when they travel down to the south coast to take on Southampton this weekend.

Liverpool are coming off back-to-back wins in the league after their 2-2 draw against Arsenal a few weeks ago, and now own a sizeable five-point cushion at the top of the Premier League table, a testament to the job Arne Slot has done in his first year in the city.

Southampton meanwhile have equally pressing concerns ahead of this one, namely the fact that they’ve registered just four points all season, and have scored just one goal across their last 270 minutes of action in the league.

In terms of recent meetings between the two clubs, Liverpool have tended to dominate, winning five of the last six, with the only exception across that run being a pulsating 4-4 draw in this venue back in May of last year.

Only Chelsea have scored more goals away from home this season than Liverpool have, with Liverpool winning the most aerial battles on the road this year as well, showing how effective they’ve been in front of goal on their travels.

By comparison, no team has given up more shots to opposing teams at home than season than Southampton has, with the Saints allowing the joint-highest number of set-piece goals at home this year also.

We should see goals in this one on Sunday, and we’re backing the Over 3.25 as a result.

Soccer League Prediction: Over 3.25 (-105)

Newcastle vs West Ham | November 25 | 3:00PM ET

Newcastle -195 | West Ham +530 | Draw +345

Monday night sees West Ham take on Newcastle up in the north-east in what amounts to a huge game for the Hammers as they look to avoid getting sucked into the relegation dogfight taking place not far beneath them.

West Ham have won just one of their last four games in the league overall, and were handed a pretty heavy 5-1 beating by Liverpool in their EFL Cup exit back at the end of September as well, so it’s no surprise to see Julen Lopetegui shoot to the top of the favorites list to get sacked next in the Premier League.

Newcastle finally kicked their season into gear prior to the international break with back-to-back wins against Arsenal and Nottingham Forest respectively.

That boosted the Magpies up the table significantly, but it’s been their home form that has been the major cause for concern for them this season, dropping them from 1st, all the way down to 17th in expected goals when playing at home this year.

West Ham have traditionally provided a huge thorn for Newcastle in this venue across recent meetings also, coming out with a positive result in four of their last six visits here. The only two to go in Newcastle’s favor across that run saw them fall behind early in both cases, and then require some late goals in order to salvage the win.

That said, Newcastle are in the much better form of these two teams right now, and we expect them to get over the line here on Monday, albeit barely, in a game West Ham should be competitive in.
