Surprise Spanish package Girona look to cap off what’s been an extraordinary season with a final home game against relegated Granada over at the Estadio Municipal de Montilivi on Friday.
With such a massive gulf in terms of where these two teams currently find themselves in the league table, it’s no surprise to see Girona go into Friday’s game as the prohibitive -457 home favorites, with Granada coming back at a sizeable +1000.
However, with so little left to play for in terms of motivation, that’s an enormously high line here even given Granada’s massive struggles this year.
And struggled they have, with no team suffering more total losses in LaLiga this season than Granada have, with the Nasrids losing 24 of their 37 games outright this season for the highest loss percentage in the entire league.
That’s been compounded by a defense that ranks second-from-bottom in defensive xGA at home this season, as well as second-from-bottom in opponent goals allowed also, giving up 1.68 goals per game on average.
Girona put four goals past Granada in their previous meeting back in September, and given Granada’s less-than-stellar defense at home this season, that might be the way to go once again in this one.
Take the Girona Team Total Over 2.5 goals on Friday when they host Granada in Catalonia.

Almeria vs Cadiz | Saturday May 25 | 12:30pm ET

Two teams that will be plying their trade in LaLiga 2 for next season, Cadiz and Almeria have endured massively disappointing campaigns this year.
For Almeria, they’ve known about their fate for quite some time, being in the relegation zone pretty much all season owing to the fact that they own the league’s lowest win percentage at just 5.4% on average this year.
For Cadiz, it’s been much more of a battle, and one they finally fell short in as they drew 0-0 against Las Palmas last weekend, a result that doomed them in terms of being able to survive for one more week into the final matchday.
That huge emotional swing for Cadiz has led them to go in as underdogs for this game, with Almeria being in that rarefied air of being favorites for a game this season.
Four of the last five head-to-heads between the two teams have produced an exact 1-1 scoreline and given there’s so little at stake for this matchup, a similar type of result would not in the least surprise here on Saturday either.
Almeria will no doubt want to send their fans home happy by securing a rare win over at the Power Horse Stadium this weekend, but how can you trust a team to win a game that has lost or drawn 95% of all of their matches this season?
The answer is you can’t, so even with the game state and situation heavily favoring Almeria ahead of this one, we simply can’t trust them to deliver this weekend and will instead opt to take the 1-1 draw at a much higher +550 as a solid alternative.
La Liga Prediction: Correct Score 1-1 (+550)
Sevilla vs Barcelona | Sunday May 26 | 3:00pm ET
Sevilla +285 | Barcelona -120 | Draw +300
Two teams entering the final matchday in some vastly different form here on Sunday as Barcelona takes on Sevilla over at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan this weekend.
Barcelona are coming into this one off the back of three straight wins in the league, all coming to nil as well, with the news that former club legend Xavi Hernandez will continue on as coach into next season clearly lifting the spirits of players and fans alike after his dramatic u-turn from his previous stance of leaving the club in the summer.
For Sevilla, things have gone in completely the other direction, with results petering out across recent weeks with three straight losses in the league against Villarreal, Cadiz, and Athletic Bilbao respectively, with Sevilla only managing to find the back of the net in just one of those games as well.
Barcelona has tended to have Sevilla’s number across recent meetings, winning all of the last four encounters between the two teams by an aggregate 8-0 scoreline, a fact that highlights how Sevilla has been unable to score against Barcelona across that run also.
Take the road team to deliver yet another defeat on Sevilla this Sunday on the final matchday, in a game the Catalan giants should simply have too much in.
