Getafe vs Athletic Bilbao | Friday May 3 | 3:00pm ET

Getafe +260 | Athletic Bilbao +120 | Draw +220

After a winless run of four straight games in the league, a top-four spot for Bilbao looks like an ever more distant proposition for them. However, given how things are still fully to play out in European competition, 5th place might yet be enough for Athletic Bilbao in terms of competing in next season’s big dance.

They face a Getafe side on Friday that has won just one of their last four games overall, including failing to win four of their last six games at home also.

Getafe’s underlying data has failed to impress inside the Coliseum this season, registering as the team with the 5th lowest offensive xG in the league at home, along with ranking bottom five in total shots per game also.

That said, despite Getafe’s less-than-impressive home record this season, it’s still nevertheless hard to trust Athletic Bilbao fully here to take all three points in this game given they enter this week’s matchup with the 5th worst form in the league across the last five game sample size.

Each of the last five head-to-head meetings between these two teams has ended all square, and that’s a distinct possibility once again on Friday with both sides coming into this one in some decidedly average form.

La Liga Prediction: Draw (+220)

Real Madrid vs Cadiz | Saturday May 4 | 10:15am ET

Read Madrid -305 | Cadiz +820 | Draw +440

Cadiz will face an extremely distracted Real Madrid team on Saturday over at the Santiago Bernabeu as Los Blancos await a highly anticipated second-leg matchup next Wednesday against German heavyweights Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-finals.

That first leg finished 2-2 over in Munich this past Tuesday as Madrid got the late equalizer to ensure they return home on an even footing ahead of next week’s game.

For Cadiz, targets and ambitions are a lot more mundane, but no less important, as they try and stay alive in LaLiga for another season.

Cadiz currently sit at least six points from safety right now given their negative goal difference, and with time running out on the season as a whole, a positive result against Real Madrid will be almost essential for them this weekend.

The issue that Cadiz has however is that while they’re in a must-win spot in this game against a largely unmotivated Madrid side who will be on backup duty, Madrid’s backup team is nonetheless more than capable of taking care of business at home in this one.

Cadiz’s numbers across the back half of the season have not been good, ranking as the only team in the league yet to crack double-digit scoring figures this calendar year. On top of that, Cadiz owns a defense that has allowed the third-most goals to opponents across that same timeframe, so it’s fair to say that even Madrid’s second squad, players that are still competing for a first-team place, should get plenty of opportunities to shine in this one.

Remove the ‘must-win’ element from this game and Real Madrid are simply leagues ahead of Cadiz right now, and we’ll back them to win this one by margin on Saturday.

La Liga Prediction: Real Madrid -1.5 (-105)

Sevilla vs Granada | Sunday May 5 | 8:00am ET

Sevilla -160 | Granada +445 | Draw +300

Sevilla hosts a Granada team on Sunday that are still mathematically in the fight, clinging to hope as they are after their impressive 3-0 win at home against Osasuna this past weekend.

That’s an unbeaten run now of three straight games for Granada heading into Sunday’s matchup, but it may well be too little too late for them as they sit at least 12 points from safety currently given their negative goal difference.

While mathematical hope is better than no hope, with 87% of the league campaign already wrapped up at this point, the sunset of top-flight LaLiga football is looming ever closer for the Nazaries.

They face a Sevilla side in this one that, despite sitting in relative mid-table safety overall, have actually been playing well of late, winning three of their last four games at home, as well as three of their last four overall also.

Since his arrival to the club back in December, manager Quique Sanchez Flores has steadied the ship at Sevilla, with the Rojiblancos now looking to target a top-half finish in the league table after a disastrous start to the campaign.

Granada have it all to do here on Sunday against a Sevilla team that are currently in the 4th best form in the league over the last ten game sample size. While we understand the urgency for Granada ahead of this one, Sevilla has nevertheless won four straight at home against Granada, and we see this weekend’s matchup being no different.

La Liga Prediction: Winning Margin – Sevilla by 1 Goal (+280)
