Watford vs Hull Betting Analysis

Struggling Hull City travels down to Vicarage Road near London to take on high-flying Watford in a game both teams could really use maximum points in.

Watford is currently in the thick of the playoff race with just five points separating all four teams in the current playoff standings between third and sixth place. After nearly a month off because of the World Cup, the race to return to the Premier League will heat up, beginning this weekend.

Hull City, meanwhile, is doing its best to avoid going down this season as they sit precariously close to the relegation zone, with just one point separating them from 22nd-place Wigan.

Watford won the last meeting between these two sides in this venue, but that was over six years ago and that result won’t play any relevance in Sunday’s clash.

The Tigers Spring A Leak In Defense

Hull City has been incredibly poor in defense this season, giving up 39 goals already this year – the highest number out of any team in the league.

New boss Liam Rosenior will hope his side’s recent trip to Turkey for training camp will have halted that defensive slide somewhat as they travel to one of the better offensive teams in the league this year in Watford on Sunday.

Immediate Return To Premier League is Watford’s Goal

Returning from a recent training camp in Spain with four wins banked from their last six Championship games, there’s no doubt confidence will be high within Slaven Bilic’s squad ahead of this one.

A large part of that success for the Hornets this year has been in their ability to shut out opposing teams, with 40-percent of all their home games this season accompanied by a clean sheet.

Watford vs Hull Prediction

We’re taking Watford (-150) to get the outright win on Sunday against Hull City in the English Championship in what should be another strong performance at home for the Hornets.

Watford striker Joao Pedro has netted six times already this season and it’s hard to see the worst defensive team in the league keeping Watford quiet for the full 90 minutes in this one.
