Analysis

I'm going to take a position against Buffalo here.

Lafayette won the Patriot League last season out of nowhere and return almost everyone on offense.  The Leopards lost a couple of key defenders but this Buffalo offense is going to be deplorable this season and I don't think the Bulls will be able to take full advantage making the Bulls overvalued here.

While I think the defending Patriot League Champions have some redeeming qualities this is definitely a fade of Buffalo.  Cole Snyder transferred out leaving a very inexperienced quarterback in CJ Ogbonna who hasn't shown much ability and has very few weapons on offense.

Buffalo has virtually nothing proven in the passing game which means the Bulls will have to run to do anything which I expect to be predictable and Lafayette to be able to game plan for.  It's possible Buffalo's offensive line gets some push against this Lafayette defensive front but this is a well coached Leopards team that's had all summer to prepare and my guess is without much of a passing game the Buffalo offense ends up looking lackluster here.

The only path to winning anything for Buffalo this season will be their defense but this is still a young unit that probably needs some reps to reach their full potential.  Lafayette's strength will be their offense, the Leopards return most of an attack that went 9-3 last year and Jamar Curtis looks to be a dynamic playmaker at the FCS level and I think his talent will play here.

Buffalo has a roster that would probably underachieve in the FCS.  I think Lafayette wins outright here.

Play on Lafayette +4 (-110) for 4% (or 4 units)
