I can’t believe we lost a 5% to this Eastern Michigan team last week but I may have overestimated UMASS being any good.

We know Washington is capable and we know it’s going to be difficult for Eastern Mich to travel across the country here.   I think this one gets out of hand.

I'm not going to bother breaking down the matchup from a win/loss perspective since you all know I liked UMASS to beat Eastern Michigan enough last week to make it a 5%.

There's zero chance Eastern Michigan travels across the country after playing on the road last week and pulls an upset against Washington so the question isn't IF Washington wins it's “BY HOW MANY” and I think there's a good chance the final margin is similar to Washington's win last week.

Washington OBVIOUSLY got worse, that's well known as the Huskies were National Championship runners up last season and lost pretty much their entire team but Washington does have a capable quarterback in Will Rogers and a roster that would still throttle most MAC teams. 

Weber State isn't THAT much worse than Eastern Michigan and Washington moved the ball with ease in that game racking up nearly 500 yards of offense and 35 points.  I think it's most notable that Washington didn't turn the ball over at all and played a relatively clean football game which has me optimistic that the Huskies can do it against another lesser opponent here.

Cole Snyder was respectable in his debut for Eastern Michigan but nothing I saw last weekend suggests this is at all an explosive Eagles offense.  Eastern Michigan was able to finish off a few drives against what turned out to be an inept UMASS team but that's unlikely to happen against what is still a far better Washington defense here.

Eastern Michigan would be favored on a neutral over Weber State but the caliber of opponent is similar and Washington gets to stay home while Eastern Michigan goes from Ypsilanti to Amherst all the way out to Seattle, Washington.  I think Eastern Michigan shows up for their paycheck and takes their beating here.
