Analysis

It's rivalry weekend in the CFL and that means the Bombers and Riders are going head-to-head in what should be an intense match-up. Although it's a rivalry game and a game people will be excited about, it doesn't mean there will be fireworks on every drive, I think it means the exact opposite, that we'll see smash-mouth football, a ton of great defensive plays and a lot of the run game being utilized for both teams.

The Blue Bombers are the #1 overall team in points allowed in the CFL and the Roughriders are the #2 overall team in rushing yards allowed per game. A main focal point of the Bombers offence is their running game. If there's one strong spot in the Roughriders defence, it's their rushing defence, which has done very well over the last few weeks, and I expect to do very well against Oliveira and the attack of the Bombers. The Riders offence has looked a lot smoother lately since Trevor Harris returned to action after being out for six games. Still, when playing teams with respectable defences they have struggled, especially with the long ball, due to their O-line not giving Harris as much time as he needs to make his reads. Harris regressed last week, throwing for just 190 yards and a pair of picks in a 20-19 loss to the Argos and now will play a Winnipeg team that is 1-9 on the season with their Over/Under record due to their strong performances.

The last meeting between these rivals finished with a score of 19-9. I'm expecting field goals to be a big part of this game and both defences to have big performances.

Look for a defensive battle and bet UNDER 47.5 points.
