(103) Buffalo Bills at (104) Miami Dolphins: James Cook Rushing Yards O/U
There are a lot of things to love about this play. First off, the 19 carries for 71 yards against the Cardinals was a great sign for his role in the offense. I think Cook was underutilized last season, but they seem to know they have something really good with him this year. In 2023, he had 17 or more carries in only 4 games, but he rushed for 70+ yards in all of those games. Now, with no Diggs and no Gabe Davis, we say the Bills rush the ball 33 times, and only throw it 23 times in Week 1 so I think the amount of carries he gets will be solid this season. Add to that that Josh Allen rushed 9 times last game, and now has a hurt hand so the Bills might be wanting to protect him a bit this week.
The Dolphins defense is extremely different this year than last year, as 4 guys starting for their defensive line last year are either hurt or on another team, and they have up 4.9 yards per carry to the Jaguars, and it might have been worse if Etienne doesn't fumble the ball near the goal line. It's a short week, so the defense of Miami might be a bit tired, I expect a big rushing attack. I love Cook to be really good this week.
