Analysis

(5%) OREGON. I really like the way this one sets up. The Ducks are one of the best teams in the entire country. They have a real shot at running the table. In Week 1, the Ducks only beat Idaho by 10 points. (The Vandals would go on to beat Wyoming outright in Week 2.)  That wasn't as close at it sounds though, as Oregon dominated time of possession and had a 487-217 edge in yards. Last week, the Ducks were in real danger of losing to Boise. The Broncos are a strong team and they came in off a game where they'd scored 56 points and racked up more than 650 yards on offense.  The Ducks were down at halftime and trailing in the fourth quarter. They found a way to win though. I expect the comeback to provide momentum and believe that the Ducks will have received their “wake-up call.” The Beavers managed a win at SD State but they aren't in the same class as Boise, last week's opponent; Oregon will have advantages all over the field. Off last week's close call and having blown a 31-10 lead (lost 38-34) when they were last (against a better OSU team than this one) the Ducks won't take their foot off the gas. That was in 2022, which was Coach Lanning's first season at Oregon. You can be sure that he hasn't forgotten. In fact, Lanning took a lot of criticism for his play-calling after that game. He will want his team to run up the score. Oregon beat the Beavers 31-10 last year. The Ducks returned 17 starters from that team while the Beavers brought back a mere five, only one on defense. This will be a blowout. *good at -17 or better
