Analysis

(3%) UNC. While I respect Pittsburgh, I feel that the wrong team is favored here. The Tar Heels were favored by seven points for last year's game at Pittsburgh and they won 41-24. Both the Heels and the Panthers returned 13 starters from those teams. Including that win, UNC is 8-2/7-3 ATS in 10 ACC meetings, 7-0 SU (6-1 ATS) the past seven meetings here in Chapel Hill. Last week's loss, their second straight, was definitely a tough one. The Tar Heels are determined to bounce back though. Coach Mack Brown said this after the Duke loss: “I told the players that I knew how disappointed they were but I was proud of them, that they fought their guts out." This is their homecoming game and the Tar Heels are going to be fired up. Yes, the Panthers' offensive numbers are impressive. However, keep in mind that they've padded their stats with blowout wins over Kent State and Youngstown State. I'm not sold on the Pitt. defense which returned only four starters. Don't be shocked when UNC bounces back and hands Pittsburgh its first loss.
