302 BYU at SMU

Brigham Young struggled in stepping up in class last year in the BIG 12. The defense was especially bad down the stretch, allowing 40, 31, 45, 37 and 35 their last five games. BYU started the season vs FCS entrant Southern Illinois. 

SMU struggled on National Television in their opener at Nevada. We’ve said it before and we will say it again, teams heading west have really disappointed over the years, especially in the road favorite role. Nevada played again last week and proved they are much better than preseason magazines gave them credit for. So the Mustangs look much better by comparison with an extra week to reflect.

This SMU offense is loaded, and will have little problem moving the chains on this Cougars defense. Look for the Mustangs to easily surpass the posted team total.
