UEFA - Finland at Greece 

Play Thoughts: Match Day 1 of this group that also includes England and Ireland so it's likely a fight for 2nd place and a promotion playoff for these two and Ireland. It looks to be a new era at Greece after the firing of manager Gus Poyet after a loss to underdogs Georgia in penalty kicks kept them out of the Euro's. Ivan Jovanovic takes over and the former Panathinaikos manager takes over and has already made some squad changes to make this a better squad and one that can rejuvenate fans. Winning at home against Finland has almost been a normal with wins in 8 of 9 meetings. Striker Vangelis Pavlidis should feature and be a big part of the revival here. At AZ Alkmaar he registered 33 goals in 46 games and made the transfer to a bigger side Benfica and has already found the net there as well. Finland are notoriously defensive away from home but an expected improvement from the home side could led to a big win here if they break through early. Whether the fanbase comes out in full force remains to be seen after that disappointing playoff loss but we'll look for Greece to take Match Day 1 here.
