Analysis

The Chicago Bears are the talk of the town in NFL circles this offseason after selecting the Caleb Williams with the #1 overall pick in the NFL draft. However, the respect they are receiving from the oddsmakers and NFL betting public is being overblown heading into week 1. Facing a Tennessee Titans team that has a bunch of unknowns and moving pieces gives us an opportunity to pounce on the barking dog right out of the gate.

Tennessee brings in a new head coach and coordinators on both sides of the ball. Head man, Brian Callahan spent the previous five seasons as Cincinnati’s offensive coordinator guiding one of the better offenses in the NFL. Dennard Wilson takes over the defense, coming in from the Baltimore Ravens defensive staff. The Titans added some premier talent in Calvin Ridley, Tyler Boyd, Tony Pollard, and JC Latham to the roster.

Chicago added some pieces themselves and could be a better team with time. However, likely starting a rookie QB on the opposite side of a shaky defense is a big ask for improvement. This is a Bears squad that started last year (0-4) both straight up and against the spread, letting up 137 points as they were torched out the gate. Lastly, NFL #1 overall picks get a ton of hype, although they have lost a ton of money, going 0-14-1 straight up and 1-13 against the spread in their first start week 1 since the early 2000's. Titans take advantage. Bet Tennessee.
