Both teams are 2-0 and have yet to be challenged. WSU comes in off an upset home win over Texas Tech by 21 points. That is very misleading. WSU was out-gained by 75 total yards, but benefitted from a +3 turnover margin. That won't happen here. Cougars QB John Mateer rushed for 197 yards on 21 carries (9.4 ypc) against Tech, but now the Huskies have had a week to prepare for that aspect of the WSU attack. Mateer showed very little as a passer, completing just 9 of 19 pass attempts for 115 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. The Huskies defense will be prepared to keep Mateer in the pocket.
It's difficult to gauge Huskies QB Will Rogers considering the two vastly inferior opponents he's faced thus far, but he did complete 79% of his passes and did not throw a pick. What we do know is that Rogers' coach, Jedd Fisch, coached Arizona against WSU last season and hung 44 points on 'em.
The Huskies have dominated this series lately, going 8-1 SU and 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings. WSU's misleading scoreboard from last weekend gives us some very solid value here, in my opinion.
