Analysis

4% 2 Team, 6.5 PT Teaser - Arizona (+7.5) & Houston (PK) (-130) —

Seeing as it is only week 2 of the season playing it a little safer with a teaser was the way to go. I was impressed by what I saw out of the Texans and the Cardinals last week, but there is a lot of potential still from the opposition of both teams.

  • Arizona (+7.5) —
    • The Cardinals fought the entire game against the Bills and almost pulled the week 1 upset against Josh Allen. Kyler Murray had more time than anyone in the league to throw in the opening week and they put up more points on this Bills defense than 17 of the 19 teams last season. They were one of the best on 3rd down in the opening week and Kyler looked more like his old self than we have seen in a while behind this OL.
    • As for the Rams, they had a hard fought battle in week 1 but they are definitely shaken up after that game. LA is dealing with some big injuries and their OL was already depleted going into their first game of the season and are in an even worse situation now.
  • Houston (PK) —
    • By my numbers, with everything taken into account, Houston had the most impressive offense performance in week 1. Joe Mixon bursted onto the scene in Houston and rushed for more yards than any single player (159), averaging well over 5 YPC (5.3) on 30 attempts! The team never turned the ball over and CJ Stroud completed 75% of his passes. They showed they have multiple weapons in the receiving game and they were capable of sharing the lover, and Kyler was the only QB who had more time to throw the ball on average than CJ Stroud. Their offense definitely looked better than their defense, but Chicago’s offense is based more on potential than what we actually saw week 1.
    • Chicago looked like the worst offense out there in week 1, and their defense didn’t look a whole lot better when you take into account they were playing the Titans. They looked good against the pass, but that isn’t saying much with Will Levis running things, and the Titans rush game was able to put up some solid numbers.
