We have action from Brazil as the Eagles and Packers will meet in Sao Paulo to kick off the 2024 regular season for their respective clubs Friday night. As weird as it is to say, the Eagles are actually in somewhat of a “buy low” spot entering the season after what many consider to be a failure a year ago. Jalen Hurts was playing through injuries for most of the campaign, and we can expect a resurgence from him as well as this offense loaded with weapons, especially with Saquon Barkley being added to the mix in the offseason. Philly was 4th in the league in rush EPA per play in 2023, and Barkley has the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield to go along with his dynamic rushing skills. That will no doubt open things up for playmakers AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith, as opposing secondaries will have to keep a close eye on both Barkley and Hurts' ability to escape the pocket. As far as the defense is concerned, expect the Eagles to be better in all facets with talent both up front and at cornerback. 
 

Jordan Love got paid and now the pressure is on to perform. He gets to avoid the crazy atmosphere in Philly but beating the Eagles even in a “neutral site” game will prove to be an awfully difficult task. It’s safe to say we will see regression from Love now that the league has extensive film on him and will be able to make the proper adjustments. The Packers didn’t make many big moves in the offseason, so they aren’t a team with a very high ceiling. The defense didn’t force many turnovers and ranked 23rd in EPA per play against. This is an average NFL team trying to get a win against a legit Super Bowl contender, and it will show in Week 1 as Philly comes away with the SU victory. Take the Eagles.
