The Astros enter Wednesday winners of 5 of 6 and have put a significant amount of distance between themselves and the Mariners in the division. We have a “bet on” pitcher in Spencer Arrighetti, who hasn’t allowed a run in either of his past 2 starts while giving up just 5 hits total and throwing at least 6 innings in each. Houston also has the 3rd best batting average on the season a top-5 bullpen in terms of ERA. We’re finally seeing some regression out of Nick Martinez, who grades out below average in pitching run value. Martinez gave up 4 earned last time out and 6 a few starts back. He’s a fly ball pitcher which doesn’t bode well at Great American Ballpark and the Reds have lost 4 of the past 5 times he’s toed the rubber. Take the Astros.
