Last week, the line on the KC/Baltimore game closed at KC -5. Baltimore was playing with revenge for the AFC Championship Game loss. KC won by 7 and covered by a toe, while Cincinnati lost outright to New England, which many believe was the worst team coming into this season. Yet, this week, the line is 6?
Two things from last week: Joe Burrow looked rusty, as he and his receivers weren’t on the same page. This is what happens when your stars don’t play in the preseason and you have holdouts. Their timing was clearly off, and Cincinnati looked like a team that thought they just had to show up to win. Cincinnati and Joe Burrow are the one team that has had success against KC and Mahomes, as Cincinnati is 3-2 SU in their last 5 meetings, with all 5 games being decided by 8 points or less, and 3 of the 5 decided by exactly a field goal.
Kansas City does have a couple of extra days of rest, having played on Thursday, but that isn’t as big of a factor in Week 2, as teams aren’t as banged up and tired as they would be later in the season when the extra days would provide a bigger edge. CINCINNATI 27-24.
