The Padres start a weekend series with the Giants in San Diego. I like the favorable pitching matchup here for The Padres. Michael King has been a reliable starter this season and in two starts against San Francisco has been very solid going a combined 11 innings and allowing just 2 runs and holding Giants batters to a .164 batting average. King will have to keep the ball in the ballpark, but he should have some success in doing so as he's allowed just 7 home runs in his 12 home starts. San Francisco also has a top 10 strikeout percentage on the road this season. The Padres offense is better on the road than at home, but still, they are facing rookie Mason Black, who is making his second start since being called back up from the minors. Tough to know what to expect from Black, but the Padres lineup has the lowest strikeout rate at home since August 1st. The Padres are in a playoff race, while the Giants are fading. If the Padres don't get on top early, I don't like their chances for the game.
