(289) Chicago Bears at (290) Houston Texans
The Texans host the Bears for Week 2 of Sunday Night Football. Houston is a much better team than Chicago and the have the much better quarterback and coach. Many have lauded the Bears defense coming into this season, but I don't see it yet. The talk of how good they were at the end of last season doesn't carry over for me. Mostly because they played bad offensive teams. Their wins in the final half of the season were over Carolina, Minnesota w/o Kirk Cousins, Arizona and Atlanta w/ Desmond Ridder. They also bear Detroit at Soldier Field and it's proven how bad Jared Goff and Lions are on the road. All this means CJ Stroud and company should have a good evening at home for their first game. And all those wins I just mentioned, only one of them was on the road and it was a 12-10 win over the Vikings. Fading a rookie QB in his first road start feels like the right play to me.
