Let's keep this simple. Clemson is still one of the most overrated teams in the market and continue to be priced like Trevor Lawrence is their QB. He's not and this team is a mess on offense. But they've been a mess for the last 3 years and nobody seems to have noticed. They totaled just 189 yards of offense against Georgia last week and don't get me wrong, there is no shame in losing to Georgia but this is not one of the most elite defenses that Georgia has ever had. As a favorite, Clemson is now just 6-15 ATS since 2021 when laying 9 points or more, including 0-3 ATS following a loss. Appalachian State, meanwhile, is 6-1-1 ATS as an underdog the last couple of seasons and they tend to rise to the occasion against blue blood teams. Appalachian State has lost 11 games the last 2 years but just 2 of those losses have been by more than 7 points. They also have the better QB in this game.
