Chicago has abandoned its season as evidenced by last couple games but especially night’s DNP list which led to non-competitive 86-70 loss at Atlanta. Sky entered that game tied with Atlanta & Washington for 8th and final playoff slot but eight player rotation of basically backups allowed league’s worst shooting team to hit 48.4% from the field. Hobbled & uninspired Chicago team enters Mohegan Sun Arena to face current #3 seed Connecticut in game that the Sun need to win. Tuesday night’s narrow loss here to Minnesota leaves Connecticut in spot where they can still be passed in playoff seedings by Las Vegas due to head-head tiebreaker. Motivated Sun with sizeable advantages in numerous arears including interior and defense figure to have chance to make short work of Chicago. Raw power ratings only indicate they should probably be -14 so current number is fair especially when you factor in the situational aspects. Sky has now lost 3 of L4 by 16+ and season series where they played Connecticut tough looks far different now without so many key players. Sun could play get in and get out style trying to keep some key personnel healthy but in rout scenario any 5 they have on the floor in the 4th quarter figure to match up well with Chicago. Likely take no prisoners here and win convincingly by 20+.
