Analysis

Colorado is coming off an emotional home overtime win versus Baylor last Saturday. Quite frankly, the Buffaloes were extremely fortunate to win that contest considering they needed a 43-yard Hail Mary touchdown pass with no time left to tie the game. Furthermore, after taking a 7-point lead in their first possession in overtime to take the lead, they were beneficiaries of a Baylor fumble on first and goal from the 1-yard line on the ensuing drive. Colorado has a dynamic offensive passing game led by star quarterback Shaddeur Sanders. However, they have an anemic running game averaging only 65 yards per game rushing the football.

UCF is coming off a bye week. They last played 2 weeks ago at TCU and as a 2.5-point underdog pulled off a dramatic 35-34 with a last-minute touchdown. The Golden Knights defense is average at best. Nonetheless, they have a terrific offensive running game that averages 375.7 yards per game and 6.8 yards per rushing attempt. Sometimes the best defense is a potent running game that dominates time of possession and keeps opposing offenses off the field. It also serves well for wearing down defenses as the game progresses. This looks to be an ideal spot for Central Florida playing at home following a bye week versus an overhyped opponent that travels across 2 time zones and off a thrilling overtime win.

Give me Central Florida minus points.
