Analysis

2% Rotation #451: NFL Thursday 2% Baltimore Ravens +3 -115 @ Kansas City Chiefs @ 8:20 ET - Revenge can be overplayed for sure but, in this case, it is a great spot to make a play on a revenge-minded Ravens team catching a full field goal here. Yes they lost the AFC Championship Game to the Chiefs last season but they were done in by three turnovers in that game. Now they have RB Derrick Henry to try and dominate more with a ground game set on keeping opponents defenses on the field for a long time and wearing them down. In the match-up in January the Chiefs dominated time of possession but I don't see that happening again here. Of course, defenders having to always respect the legs of QB Lamar Jackson and chase after him often is another key in wearing down defenses. In terms of non-QB rushes, the Chiefs had 26 in the January game while the Ravens had just 8. That has to, and will, change here. Look for a big game from Henry and I also expect even more from Jackson here. He threw for 272 yards in the AFC Championship Game but, again, it was the turnovers that killed the Ravens in that one. The Chiefs have now been to the Super Bowl 4 of the last 5 seasons and won 3 of the 4 including B2B Super Bowl victories entering this season. Sure they would love a 3-peat but you can imagine who is the hungrier team entering this season when you consider the last 5 seasons results. Other than Chiefs fans, everyone is likely sick of seeing Kansas City in the Super Bowl! Absolutley the Ravens are very hungry and hell-bent on revenge here and Harbaugh will bring out the best in his team here. John Harbaugh has led his team to a 12-4 record in season openers. The Chiefs, it goes without saying, are of course a fantastic team but Travis Kelce is now 35 and slowing down and also lets talk about Chiefs results at home. KC lost their season opener last year - also at home - and only went 4-4 SU in regular season games played in Kansas City. This included losses to playoff teams like the Lions, Bills and Eagles. Now they host another playoff team here and it is a revenge-minded Ravens team that looks very strong on both sides of the ball entering this season. I will grab the points, just in case, but I do not expect to need them. 2% BALTIMORE +3 -115
