Analysis

3% Rotation #475: NFL Sunday 3% Denver Broncos +6 -105 @ Seattle Seahawks @ 4:05 ET - It is well known that Seattle is not an easy place for NFL teams to visit. That is particularly true when you consider the noise factor and if said team is starting a rookie QB. However, Bo Nix played 5 FULL seasons of College Football and it was with Auburn in the SEC and Oregon in the Pac-12. He has played in plenty of big games and in tough venues. Granted it is not the same as the NFL but it is no accident that his Broncos teammates voted on a team captain and it was Nix that was chosen! He is a very good fit for HC Sean Payton and this Denver team and I look for a strong cohesive Broncos team to be present on the field in Seattle Sunday afternoon. What I find particularly interesting about this match-up is there has been a big market move on the Seahawks as this line has ticked up a couple points from the opener. I know the defense of the Seahawks is expected to be much improved but lets see that on the field first! My point is we are still talking about a Seattle team that did not impress statistically on defense last season as their numbers were commensurate with that of the Broncos! In fact when you look at both teams numbers from last season they are quite comparable across the board! So now lets talk about another key difference this season. The Seahawks have a new head coach as Macdonald has taken over for veteran HC Carroll. Now certainly Macdonald deserves some respect and has been a DC for 2 years with the Ravens and has some NFL assistant coaching experience. But at 37 he is a very young and inexperienced NFL head coach and there could be some early season growing pains for him. I would give the coaching edge to Sean Payton and the Broncos in this one and I feel the Seahawks are overvalued here by the markets. Also, in Seattle's last 11 games last season they went 5-6 but none of the wins were by more than 4 points! The Seahawks have not won a game by more than 4 points since beating Arizona 20-10 in October last season! In 17 games last season for the Broncos only 5 of them resulted in a loss by more than 5 points! I look for a very competitive game here and feel a fully rejuvenated Denver team is going to give the over-rated (and unproven D of the) Seahawks a run for their money here. If they don't get the outright upset look for the loss to be by the slimmest of margins. 3% DENVER +6 -105
