3% Rotation #773: CFL Friday Saskatchewan -2.5 @ Calgary Stampeders @ 9:30 ET - This one is one of my typical contrarian angle plays. Yes, both teams have been struggling but the Stamps are off a tie last week and at least their most recent win was in the month of August - though early! As for the Riders, they have not won a game since mid-July! They also are just 2-4 in divisional games and only 2-4 in road games while Calgary is 4-2 at home! All that said, why is Saskatchewan favored on the road here? Exactly! That is precisely just it! Don't let this line fool you! This one opened up with the Roughriders as 3 point road favorite and of course many were surprised to see this and it has come down from its opener and moved off the key number of 3. The fact is the Roughriders are off a much needed bye week and they will be the more rested and fresh team compared to a Stampeders team off a hard-fought tie with the league-best and defending champion Alouettes. This will be Calgary's 4th game in 19 days as they have played every single weekend dating back to Monday September 2nd when they were in action on Labour Day. Last season when these teams met in mid-October the Stamps won despite being outgained 378 to 208. This was a key difference maker as two weeks later these teams finished tied in the standings but Calgary went to the post-season and Saskatchewan did not. The Riders would have gone to the playoffs had they won that match-up but they were done in by turnovers. That happened here in Calgary and this will be revenge right here in Calgary as well!
