First-year head coach Mike Macdonald owes the NFL schedule makers a gift basket. You can't draw up an easier schedule to start your debut season: Host a rookie QB in Week 1, travel to the projected worst team in the league in Week 2 then host a back-up QB in Week 3. That's as good as it gets. Seattle has passed every test thus far, but this game represents a big jump in class, and we believe the Lions should be laying a bigger number. The Seahawks lost tackle George Fant and running back Kenneth Walker III with injuries in Week 1 against the Broncos. In the last two games without them, Seattle has averaged 73 rushing yards per game. One of those games went to overtime (i.e. extra time to accumulate yards) and the other game was a 21-point blow-out where the Seahawks should have been able to run the clock out with relative ease. This probably should be a battle of two 3-0 teams but Detroit let one slip away against the Bucs in Week 2. The Lions out-gained Tampa Bay 463-216 with 26 first downs compared to 14 by the Bucs. Detroit displayed similar dominance again last week against the Cardinals, out-gaining them 373-277 with six more first downs. Ford Field will be rockin' on Monday night, and this is a short number to lay. We are higher on the Lions compared to the current market.
