Analysis

There are two schools of thought entering this game. On one side, you have the Missouri "Who Have They Played?" Tigers. Mizzou entered this season with a top-15 ranking, and when people started taking a deeper look at the Tigers, the thing that jumped off the page was the early-season schedule. Missouri opened the season with four-straight home games as a 14+ point favorite before last week's bye. The Tigers have failed to cover the spread in their two "meaningful" games, beating Boston College by six and Vanderbilt by three in overtime. For those out there that wanted to question Missouri's schedule, the Tigers gave them plenty of ammunition over the last couple weeks. However, in this specific matchup against Texas A&M, we want the rested team that hasn't played anyone. The Aggies are on the complete opposite side of that schedule balance. Texas A&M has already played two SEC road/neutral site games (at Florida and vs Arkansas), hosted Notre Dame and played a very good Bowling Green squad. The Aggies have not had a bye yet, and they are 1-4 against the spread. If Missouri was playing almost any other team in the country, we would put a little more stock into the "who have they played?" angle. But we want the rested team that hasn't had to show much of its offense against the team that's already played four slugfests. Missouri pulled four outright upset wins last season. The Tigers' starting offense features six seniors and three juniors. That unit boasts plenty of experience and knows how to handle a tough road environment like Kyle Field.
