(907) Miami Marlins at (908) Colorado Rockies
Given the total in this game being listed at 10.5 or 11 depending on the sports book, there's a clear indication that oddsmakers are expecting a high-scoring game at Coors Field Tuesday night and I couldn't agree more. Don't be deterred by the seemingly high team total over 5.5 because taking the +110 and focusing on one team performing well is a much smarter approach than relying on both teams to deliver for the full game total.
The Marlins have a significant advantage in today's pitching match-up, and I fully expect them to capitalize on it. With Cal Quantrill on the mound for the Rockies, who is having a dismal season, the Marlins should be poised for success. Quantrill holds a 4.56 ERA in 2024 and an even worse 4.87 expected ERA. In August alone, he has surrendered 13 hits in just 14.1 innings. His low strikeout rate and frequent struggles with pitch count make this an ideal opportunity for the Marlins to put runs on the board against the Rockies' pitching staff tonight.
