(203) UCLA at (204) Hawaii
We have a new HC taking over at UCLA and a team that only returns 12 starters from a season ago laying 2 TD’s on the road in Honolulu. The rushing attack will remain intact for the Bruins, an offense that averaged 26.5 points per game a season ago. They’ll be able to score on a Hawaii’s defense, but the Rainbow Warriors will be able to put up points in big chunks. That’s because 8 starters return on that side of the ball, including almost all their wide receiver threats. Brayden Schager returns at quarterback and he was one of the most efficient QB’s in the Mountain West a season ago. He’s not afraid to throw the ball downfield and the top rusher is back as well. It also helps that the Warriors already have a game under their belt, beating Delaware State to start their season. UCLA’s top defensive player Laiatu Latu left for the draft and the Bruins have low expectations in their new conference. Expect Hawaii to take a step forward under Timmy Chang and it starts with a cover in game number 2. Take Hawaii.
