218 LSU & USC in Las Vegas
Big early season showdown featuring two national powerhouses on the college gridiron. We rank the Tigers a few points better but the location is a big advantage for the Southern Cal team. Growing up in Cleveland and moving to Las Vegas, we have seen many of the best teams east of the Mississippi fall when traveling west. That’s going to be a real problem for traditional Big 10 programs when taking on the former PAC12 members on their home turf. It’s also going to be a problem for LSU here.
USC is coming off a very disappointing season. Especially how they ended the year, losing 5 of 6 in the regular season. To their credit the Trojans were able to bounce back in the bowl game and dominate a pretty good Louisville squad. We expect that success to continue here as this team has got to be as hungry as anyone to get this season off to a good start.
Key numbers in college football don’t mean as much as they do in the NFL. That said, grabbing anything over three here is a bargain with the Trojans.
