(971) St. Louis Cardinals at (972) New York Yankees
This is a “get right” spot for the Yankees as they hold the slimmest of margins in the AL East with Baltimore right on their heels. Nestor Cortes has been on a rampage as of late, allowing a total of just 1 run over his past 3 starts combined. While Cortes is going through his best stretch on the season, Miles Mikolas is a “fade” candidate for us. Mikolas has allowed 4 earned or more in 4 of his past 5 starts. The metrics agree with his poor performances, as he ranks in the 1st percentile in both breaking run value and whiff percentage. Mikolas gets hit hard and doesn’t strike out many batters, so this is clearly a bad matchup for him against the team that has the most home runs in baseball. New York is top 5 in batting average over the past week and they’ll have this game under control halfway through. Take the Yankees F5 RL.
