Before the end of June, the A’s had suffered through eight losing streaks of three games or more, including an eight game skid and a nine game skid. They were 30-56 after losing their last game in June. That was then, this is now. Since July 1st, the A’s are 17-4 off a loss like the walk-off loss they suffered in the ninth inning here in Texas last night -- truly a ‘bet-on’ team for their backers. They’ve scored 34 runs in the first five games of this road trip, swinging hot bats right now; bad news against a Rangers team that continues to scuffle offensively, producing only 16 runs in their last six games. Texas has no momentum edge -- a team that won the World Series last year, now playing out the string. The Rangers have only one series win in their last nine tries against any team not named ‘the White Sox’, consistently failing in these ‘rubber match’ games. This is an ‘action’ wager -- a bullpen game for Texas -- worth riding the A’s off a loss. Take the A’s
