The knee jerk reaction to the Seminoles poor performance in the opener would be a quick bounce back. But we don’t think it’s going to be so easy for Florida State. First of all, they have to return all the way from Ireland, which isn’t a normal travel day for an American team. They also were completely dominated on both lines, something that you rarely correct in just one week. Keep in mind the Seminoles barely escaped the Eagles last year in a 31-29 victory.
BC struggled late last year, losing three straight regular season games before knocking off a good SMU team 23-14 in bowl season. With an FCS entrant on deck, this is the game Boston College has circled. Bill O’Brien entered the picture for BC in February when Jeff Hafley took an NFL Coordinator job. He’s been an excellent play caller in his career, and a solid get for this program.
The power rating on Florida State took a tumble after last week. But it’s hasn’t dropped enough. There is still plenty of value on the Eagles here as a double digit underdog.
