(909) Cleveland Guardians at (910) Kansas City Royals
910 Cleveland at Kansas City
Quick rematch for these two teams after the Royals looked very good in Cleveland last week. Gavin Williams has a very good fastball ranking 90th in velocity, along with an extension in the 96th percentile. But when he gets hit it’s been very hard. In the 8th percentile in average exit velocity, and 20th percentile in hard hit rate. He just faced Kansas City last time out, and performed pretty well with a two earned runs in five inning performance.
Michael Wacha has been one of those pitchers that continually provides good underrated stuff. His ERA the last three seasons has been 3.32, 3.22 and 3.50. As opposed to the Guardians starter, he is in the 87th percentile in hard hit rate, and 86th percentile in average exit velocity. Wacha is 6-1 with a 3.13 ERA and 1.20 WHIP pitching in Kaufman Stadium. His previous start was against Cleveland at Progressive Field, and he was lit up for five earned runs in six innings. We look for regression to take hold here as the Royals get the best of the Guardians.
